The Negligence Of The Villain - 1374 Words
Just as it is mandatory to have a hero, a fairy tale without a villain will create an ineffective plot. The negligence of the villainââ¬â¢s role/importance demonstrates our societyââ¬â¢s ethics. The judgemental views of society, creates an impression that good will always emerge as the victors. This is caused by the fact that individuals within society has a different criteria of deciding what is ââ¬Å"goodâ⬠and what is ââ¬Å"evilâ⬠. As a result their minds are structured through pure bias. The so called ââ¬Å"heroesâ⬠or ââ¬Å"villainsâ⬠are all just dependent on an individualââ¬â¢s ideal self. The influence of the real world, through history or the present, help individuals create a dividing line between the principles of good vs evil. This is evident through the misinterpretation of villains. Individuals only see villains as vile individuals endeavoring towards an egocentric goal, created by their malicious personality. The treatment of this chara cter is prejudice, as their stories are completely overshadowed by the heroââ¬â¢s beaming stature. If there isnââ¬â¢t any background information for the villains, how does the audience understand the meanings behind their motives and intentions? Villains are more than just an obstacle created for the plot, theyââ¬â¢re the necessary ingredient for a successful story. The audience has to realize that villains have many similar attributes to heroes that can benefit the outcome of the story. Are Stricter Gun Control Laws Needed free essay sample
Gun control laws aim to restrict or regulate the sale, purchase, or possession of firearms through licensing, registration, or identification requirements. With the recent abundance of mass shootings in the U. S. , the subject of gun safety has once again been brought into the spotlight. These tragic events serve as reminders that stricter gun control policies should be enforced to ensure public safety. According to The Center for Responsive Politics, gun activists argue that ââ¬Å"measures intended to curb gun-related violence, such as mandatory child safety locks, background checks on those wishing to purchase a gun, limits on the number of guns a person can buy, and raising the age limit for gun ownership infringe on the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. â⬠The problem with gun violence is that it needs to be addressed both from a cultural point of view and a political perspective. Guns have always been a part of life, and finding a happy medium for gun control is a daunting task. The thing about crime and guns is that the two seem to go hand in hand with one another. Are the two really associated? Do guns necessarily lead to crime? And if so, do laws that place restrictions on firearm ownership/use, stop the crime or protect the citizens? These are some questions many citizens and lawmakers are asking themselves when trying to create gun control laws. Clearly this debate still goes on today and is the very reason for the formation of gun control laws. There is a tension between gun control laws and the right to bear arms guaranteed under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. About half the states have loosened their conceal-carry laws. Many local governments have pushed through laws that allow people to carry guns in more public places than had been previously allowed. Overall, its fair to say that its easier to own and operate a gun now in most parts of the country than it had been prior to the Sandy Hook shootings. (Tsembelis, 2012) Guns should not be used in such ways where others could be harmed or killed. They should be used only for self-defense to protect themselves and theirà valuables, not as weapons to take others lives. As of 2009, the United States has a population of 307 million people. Based on production data from firearm manufacturers, there are roughly 300 million firearms owned by civilians in the United States as of 2010. Of these, about 100 million are handguns. Based on survey data from the U. S. Department of Justice, roughly 5,340,000 violent crimes were committed in the United States during 2008. These include simple/aggravated assaults, robberies, sexual assaults, rapes, and murders. Of these, about 436,000 or 8% were committed by offenders visibly armed with a gun. The information provided, paints a pretty good picture of the Basis for the need Of Gun Control. The same statistic can work against Gun control. Depending on the way that the information is analyzed the sword could swing both ways. Many of the statistics showed a decrease in gun crimes after Guns were let loose among Common Citizen; yet, at the same time more guns get stolen and used in violent crimes. So the common idea is that the more guns, the more gun crimes committed with them. The second amendment says, ââ¬Å"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. â⬠Which states clearly, that people have the right to own a gun, but does this give them the right to carry it with them everywhere they go? Should a woman be able to carry a gun with her while walking to work? How about a little kid walking to school? As you can see, there has to be some rules and regulations, or kids will start to bring guns to school every day. Just because the government puts regulations on guns, does not necessarily mean that they are going to banish guns all together any time soon like some people fear. The government just needs to set boundaries to help protect the people who need it the most. Gun Owners Foundation is an Internal Revenue organization incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Its purposes are to educate the public about the importance of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and to provide legal and other assistance for law-abiding individuals involved in firearms-related cases. GOFââ¬â¢s more than 100,000 contributors are, by self-definition, strongly interested in the right to keep and bear arms and in opposing legislation which burdens or impede that right. The Gun Owners Foundation says that guns save more lives than they take and prevent more injuries than they inflict. However, that is very untrue. The usage of guns for self defense to not self-defense ratio is 1:22. For every time a gun is used in self-defense, there are 22 shootings that are not. Also, gun violence costs the nation about one hundred billion dollars a year. Eighty per cent of the money used to treat firearm injuries comes from taxpayer dollars. The Gun Owners Foundation says that criminals avoid armed citizens. A law in a city in Florida that required at least one gun in every household caused the crime rate in that city to drop 89%. Another law that permitted the carrying of concealed weapons dropped the homicide rate by 36%. But having a gun in a household raises the risk of a homicide or suicide. A household with a gun is three times more likely to have a homicide using a gun and five times more likely to have a suicide using a gun. Suicide is not a crime, but it is still a death and is just as bad. Guns are clearly dangerous, no matter how they are used. Even though a household may have a gun, the head of the household may not be trained in using a gun, and may cause an accidental shooting. The Gun Owners Foundation also says that gun control such as the Brady Bill, is not the answer and it doesnt reduce the number of violent crimes; therefore, its members do not want strict gun control laws. The Brady Bill requires a five-day waiting period and extensive background check on the person wanting to buy a gun before he or she is allowed to have one. This should prevent criminals from having a gun in their hands, but it really doesnt. There are about 192 million privately owned guns in the United States, 65 million of which are handguns. An estimated 1 -3 million guns are illegally sold or traded, meaning that criminals can still get their hands on a deadly firearm. What is really needed is better and stricter gun control, not elimination of it. Guns are very unsafe. Forty-three per cent of households with children have guns. One in ten is loaded and only one in eight have the child safety lock. Not all parents are stressing to keep their kids safe and away from guns where many accidents can happen. Guns also take away many lives of young people. There were 1,409 teen suicides using a gun and 1,671 teen murders. Those startling numbers should make parents aware of how dangerous it is to have a gun where their child can get it. Under federal law: It is illegal and punishable by up to 10 years in prison for the following people to receive, possess, or transport any firearm or ammunition: someone convicted of or under indictment for a felony punishableà by more than one year in prison, someone convicted of a misdemeanor punishable by more than two years in prison, a fugitive from justice, an unlawful user of any controlled substance, someone who has been ruled as mentally defective or has been committed to any mental institution, an illegal alien, someone dishonorably discharged from the military, someone who has renounced his or her U. S. citizenship, someone subject to certain restraining orders, or someone convicted of a domestic violence misdemeanor. The Gun Control Act (GCA) makes it unlawful for certain categories of persons to ship, transport, receive, or possess firearms. Transfers of firearms to any such prohibited persons are also unlawful. Also, there have been many arguments about the Second Amendment where it says, A well regulated militia the right of the people to keep and bear arms. People in favor of guns say that it is their right to own and carry a weapon. Although the Second Amendment does state the right to keep and bear arms, it is taken out of context, leaving out the important part about a well-regulated militia. The Second Amendment states that it is the right for a militia to have weapons, not everyone. Guns pose a high danger in the world. Guns are necessary, and the positive values of a gun are not great enough to balance out all the negative values they have. Guns take lives, no doubt about it. There needs to be much stricter gun control laws that prevent criminals from getting deadly weapons. They will certainly prevent much of the gun violence committed. A world without guns except in the hands of law enforcers would be a much safer place. Even though all crimes cannot be prevented, many lives will be saved.

From Its early development until the present day, jazz has also incorporated elements from popular music especially, in its early days, from American popular music. It differs from European music in that Jazz has a special relationship to time defined as swing', involves a spontaneity and vitality of musical production in which improvisation plays an important role and contains a sonority and manner of phrasing which express the Individuality of the performing Jazz musician.Rock and roll Rock n roll is a genre of popular music that originated and evolved in the united States during the late sass and early sass, primarily from a combination of African- American genres such as blues, jump blues, Jazz, and gospel music, together with Western swing and country music. Though elements of rock and roll can be heard in blues records from the sass and In country records of the sass, rock and roll did not acquire its name until the sass.In the earliest rock and roll styles of the late sass and early sass, either the piano or saxophone was often the lead instrument, UT these were generally replaced or supplemented by guitar in the middle to late sass. The beat is essentially a blues rhythm with an accentuated backseat, the latter almost always provided by a snare drum. Classic rock and roll is usually played with one or two electric guitars (one lead, one rhythm), a string bass or (after the mild-sass) an electric bass guitar, and a drum kit.Beyond simply a musical style, rock and roll, as seen in movies and on television, influenced lifestyles, fashion, attitudes, and language. It went on to spawn various sub-genres, often without the initially characteristic backseat, that are now more commonly called simply rock music or rock. Most notable rock n ro ll star would be Elvis Presley who recorded his first song thats all right In 1954. Rock n roll Influenced bangle music a great deal, Khans song Bar eel Jew sonata Rock Rock music is traditionally built on a foundation of simple unconsecrated rhythms in a 4/4 meter, with a repetitive snare drum back beat on beats two and four. Rock songs from the mid-sass onwards often used the verse-chorus structure derived from lees and folk music, but there has been considerable variation from this model. Critics have stressed the eclecticism and stylistic diversity of rock.Because of its complex history and tendency to borrow from other musical and cultural forms, it has been argued that it is impossible to bind rock music to a rigidly delineated musical definition. A simple 4/4 drum pattern common in rock music Unlike many earlier styles of popular music, rock lyrics have dealt with a wide range of themes in addition to romantic love: including sex, rebellion against The Establishment, social concerns and life styles. These themes were inherited from a variety of sources, inclu ding the Tin Pan Alley pop tradition, folk music and rhythm and blues. The predominance of white, male and often middle class musicians in rock music has often been noted and rock has been seen as an appropriation of black musical forms for a young, white and largely male audience. As a result it has been seen as articulating the concerns of this group in both style and lyrics.Since the term rock began to be used in preference to rock and roll from the mid-sass, it as often been contrasted with pop music, with which it has shared many characteristics, but from which it is often distanced by an emphasis on musicianship, live performance and a focus on serious and progressive themes as part of an ideology of authenticity that is frequently combined with an awareness of the genres history and development. [18] According to Simon Firth rock was something more than pop, something more than rock and roll.Rock musicians combined an emphasis on skill and technique with the romantic concept of art as artistic expression, original and sincere. In the new millennium the term rock has sometimes been used as a blanket term including forms such as pop music, reggae music, soul music, and even hip hop, with which it has been influenced but often contrasted through much of it s history. Pop music The definition of pop music is purposefully flexible as the music that is identified as pop is constantly changing. At any particular point in time it may be easiest to identify pop music as that which is successful on the pop music charts. For the past 50 years the most successful musical styles on the pop charts have continually hanged and evolved. However, there are some consistent patterns in what is identified as pop music. Pop music evolved out of the rock n roll revolution of the mid-sasss and continues in a definable path to today.Like other art forms that aim to attract a mass audience (movies, television, Broadway shows), pop music has been and continues to be a melting pot that borrows and assimilates elements and ideas from a wide range of musical styles. Rock, r, country, disco, punk, and hip hop are all specific genres of music that have influenced and been incorporated into pop e impacting pop music more significantly than at any point in the past.

Chef Rafiq Badsha has a large reputation of ethnic ingredients and recipes. Bachelorââ¬â¢s Restaurant forecasts that the majority of purchases will be from the chefs recommendations. Ethnic recipes will be used to provide the customers with a diverse, unusual menu. Chef Rafiq Badsha will also be emphasizing healthy dishes, recognizing the trend within the restaurant industry for the demand for healthy cuisine. 3. 2 The Menu The menu is going to be extremely simple but changing every day.We will keep a small group of constants on the menu and then feature a chefs recommendation that we plan to have 85% of meals ordering. This will help us to reduce waste and plan ingredients and purchasing. 3. 3 Organic Ingredients The organic ingredient element will allow us to price to the extremely wealthy Internet entrepreneurs who are looking to spend an exorbitant amount of money to have peace of mind that their money is still coming back to themselves. We will be extremely ecologically conscious as well, and spread this across our literature. Eating at Bachelorââ¬â¢s Restaurant will feel like having contributed to the Anjuman Mufudul and drinking fresh squeezed orange juice. 3. 4 Ethnic Ingredients and RecipesOur chef will have great latitude in designing and producing menu offerings from many different world cultures. We will endeavor to procure all the traditional, authentic ingredients necessary to hold true to these varied and in teresting cultural recipes. 3. 5 Interior Accoutrements People need to keep life interesting, and our artwork will reflect the world influences that are core to the attitude of the Bachelorââ¬â¢s Restaurant chef. 3. 6 Product [pic] [pic] [pic] [pic] Step Four: Market Research Analysis Because of the founders connections within the very trendy area of Bangladesh, we have an excellent feel for the area and its core group of customers. They will all share something alike, which is a feeling of being in the in crowd and having gotten it in life. Although the crew will be different and not connect with each other in each segment, each segment is complementary to the others. We do plan to raise menu rates as the restaurant gets more and more crowded, and to make sure we are charging a premium for the feeling of being in the in crowd. 4. 1 Market Segmentation 4. 1. 1 The Lonely Rich Most of the lonely rich are tech workers these days, and most of those tech workers are Internet workers. Their life has become their website servers and code they write, and the people who help them to make the decisions in that world. They hang out with each other, but desperately want to get away from it and use the money they are racking up. Because this wealth has come fairly easily for them, it is particularly easy to separate them from their money again they spend the most on drinks, appetizers and tips. 4. 1. 2 Young Happy Couples The restaurant will have an atmosphere that encourages people to bring dates and to have couples arrive. It wont be awkward for others, and Bachelorââ¬â¢s Restaurant does want to be a social place where people meet each other and develop a network. These young couples are generally very successful but balanced and wont be spending as much on drinks. 4. 1. 3The Rich HippiesThe rich hippies in Bangladesh are a massive group with tremendous influence over the citys government and private enterprise. They wear tie-die but drive BMWs and crave the feeli ng of being in a social circle that is changing the world even if in different ways than in their glory days. We will cater to their ecological ideology and contribute to charities to help them part with more of their money. 4. 1. 4 Dieting Women The organic food menu will always have a line of extremely delicious very low-fat meals. Bachelorââ¬â¢s Restaurant will have tables of women meeting like they do in shows like Sex and the City, to discuss all types of matters while feeling good about the food they eat. [pic] |4. We will be looking to find a young, ultra-hip staff to make sure we add the edge that makes Bachelorââ¬â¢s Restaurant so trendy. Most important to Bachelorââ¬â¢s Restaurant is the financial success which will be achieved through strict financial controls. Additionally, success will be ensured by offering a high-quality service and extremely clean, non-greasy food with interesting twists. Bachelorââ¬â¢s Restaurant does plan to raise menu rates as the restaurant gets more and more crowded, and to make sure that they are charging a premium for t he feeling of being in the in crowd. The market and financial analyses indicate that with a start-up expenditure of $141,000, Studio67 can generate over $365,000 in sales by year one, $565,000 in sales by the end of year two and produce net profits of over 7. 5% on sales by the end of year three. Profitability will be reached by year two. Sales of $350K the first year, more than half a million the second. 1. Personnel costs less than $300K the first year, less than $400K the second year. 2. Profitable in year two, better than 7. 5% profits on sales by year three. [pic] 6. 1 Personnel Plan As the personnel plan shows, we expect to invest in a good team, fairly compensated. We think the planned staff is in good proportion to the size of the restaurant and projected revenues. Personnel Plan | | |Year 1 |Year 2 |Year 3 | |Manager |$60,000 |$65,000 |$70,000 | |Hostess |$42,000 |$45,000 |$50,000 | |Chef |$54,000 |$60,000 |$65,000 | |Cleaning |$30,000 |$35,000 |$40,000 | |Waiters |$72,000 |$100,000 |$130,000 | |Other |$24,000 |$52,000 |$55,000 | |Total People |8 |10 |12 | | | | | | |Total Payroll |$282,000 |$357,000 |$410,000 | Step Seven: Developing A Financial Plan We expect to raise $40,000 of our own capital, and to borrow $100,000 guaranteed by the SBA as a 10-year loan. This provides the bulk of the start-up financing required. 7. 1 Break-even Analysis Our break-even analysis is based on the average of the first-year numbers for total sales by meal served, total cost of sales, and all operating expenses. These are presented as per-unit revenue, per-unit cost, and fixed costs. We realize that this is not really the same as fixed cost, but these conservative assumptions make for a better estimate of real risk. [pic] Break-even Analysis | | | | | | | |Monthly Units Break-even |3,205 | |Monthly Revenue Break-even |$34,171 | | | | |Assumptions: | | |Average Per-Unit Revenue |$10. 66 | |Average Per-Unit Variable Cost |$1. 0 | |Estimated Monthly Fixed Cost |$29,375 | 7. 2 Projected Profit and Loss As the profit and loss table shows, we expect to become barely profitable in the second year of business, and to make an acceptable profit in the third year. [pic] |7. 3 Pro Forma Profit and Loss | | |Year 1 |Year 2 |Year 3 | |Sales |$367,560 |$565,000 |$730,000 |Direct Cost of Sales |$51,592 |$79,250 |$102,250 | |Other |$0 |$0 |$0 | |Total Cost of Sales |$51,592 |$79,250 |$102,250 | | | | | | |Gross Margin |$315,969 |$485,750 |$627,750 | |Gross Margin % |85. 96% |85. 97% |85. 9% | | | | | | |Expenses | | | | |Payroll |$282,000 |$357,000 |$410,000 | |Sales and Marketing and Other Expenses |$27,000 |$35,830 |$72,122 | |Depreciation |$0 |$0 |$0 | |Utilities |$1,200 |$1,260 |$1,323 | |Payroll Taxes |$42,300 |$53,550 |$61,500 | |Other |$0 |$0 |$0 | | | | | | |Total Operating Expenses |$352,500 |$447,640 |$544,945 | | | | | | |Profit Before Interest and Taxes |($36,532) |$38,110 |$82,806 | |EBITDA |($36,532) |$38,110 |$82,806 | |Interest Expense |$9,673 |$8 ,887 |$7,637 | |Taxes Incurred |$0 $7,306 |$19,105 | | | | | | |Net Profit |($46,204) |$21,917 |$56,063 | |Net Profit/Sales |-12. 57% |3. 88% |7. 68% | 7. 4 Projected Cash Flow The cash flow projection shows that starting cost and provisions for ongoing expenses are adequate to meet our needs until the business itself generates its own cash flow sufficient to support operations. [pic] Step Eight: Developing a Legal Plan: Legal policy is the most important issue to set up an organization. We have the copyright to our products brand name. we have the government registration number RG-004732/2011. e have also resistered from the BSTI (Bangladesh Standards Testing Institutions) and all our food products are been made tested by the BSTI. So we can strongly assure that, our products are 100 percent halal, safe, hygienic, healthy best suitable for all ages of people. We have not the interest to franchise or dealership in any parts of the country. We have the wish to spread our own branc hes by the own management in the seven division of Bangladesh. Not by set up by the others. Step Nine: Developing a Insurance Plan We have the insurance plan under the most renowned insurance company in the world Met life ALICO. Our insurance policy number is BO- 0851298. We have insured under the fire insurance in the main office. We have the policy of 100 Crore Taka. That is if the institution burns by fire by short circuit other causes, then according to the loss we will get the compensation. But the most extreme value is 100 crore. Conclusion: Bachelor restaurant will operate within the large restaurant industry. While the industry has its upswings and downturns, the variance is less than the economy itself. People need to eat, they can eat in and save money, but the convenience of dining out creates a significant incentive. This is not to suggest that restaurants are recession proof, they are less affected by the general state of the economy. Bibliography: 1. Google 2.
